Over the past few months, Hessen has managed to consolidate its status as a technology state. The federal government has decided to upgrade the Center for Cybersecurity in Darmstadt into a National Research Center in 2019. This means Hessen will be home to the largest research center for applied cybersecurity in Germany. Hessen has also managed to consolidate its leading position in international cancer research. The new Frankfurt Cancer Institute is currently being built on Campus Niederrad in Frankfurt with a focus on cancer research. These investments speak for themselves: Hessen is an attractive location. I’m particularly happy that both projects have blossomed out of the State of Hessen’s LOEWE research funding program.
Hessen Trade and Invest is also supporting companies in technological fields. Specialist teams have been put together as part of the “Technologieland Hessen” initiative to provide forward-thinking businesses with networking opportunities, consultancy services and information. We’re pleased to see more and more innovative companies move to Hessen to profit from our excellent local infrastructure. Hessen offers outstanding nationwide connections, and European business centers are just a few hours away from Frankfurt by plane.
