The state government of Hessen reacted quickly after the outcome of the referendum on June 23, 2016. On July 11, the financial center cabinet, chaired by the Prime Minister, discussed the possible implications of Brexit with decision makers from the scientific and business communities. The meeting focused on the business location of Hessen in general and particularly on the financial center of Frankfurt. The result was the formation of a steering committee, which consists of Minister of Economics Tarek Al-Wazir, Minister of European Affairs Lucia Puttrich and Finance Minister Dr. Thomas Schäfer. Under their direction, the topic groups “Marketing and the Effects on the Real Economy,” “Legal Framework for Optimizing the Financial Center,” and “The Federal Government and Europe” will be dealt with. The following partners mostly belong to the subject group “Marketing and the Effects on the Real Economy.”
