The publication: “Germany – Excellence in Big Data” is a comprehensive review of the Big Data activities of all companies and scientific institutions in Germany. Among others, it describes how companies such as Beiersdorf, the German Parcel Delivery Service or Mercedes AMG use the streams of information in different ways.
According to a study undertaken by BITKOM and KPMG, some 35 per cent of German companies are already using big data to crunch numbers in the name of achieving better performance, while there are some 60 technology companies offering the complete range of services. Backing those up are around 30 scientific institutions working on aspects of Big Data usage improvement, covering aspects from security across to streamlining data entry. “The new publication is an easy, one-stop way to understand how Germany is adapting and implementing the new digital age,” said Henri Troillet, Senior Manager of Software at Germany Trade & Invest. “Big Data is an integral part of Germany’s stated strategy towards becoming the leading integrated industry location; this publication explains how Germany is doing this.”
