Every sixth job in Germany is created in the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main metropolitan region

For 2016, the Rhine-Main Chamber of Industry and Commerce Forum is expecting 32,000 more jobs in the metropolitan region. After the employment level rose by 42,000 persons in 2014, an additional 28,000 new jobs are estimated for 2015. Currently, the hiring willingness of companies remains unbroken and indicates that the labor market in Frankfurt-Rhine-Main will continue to boom. Thus, by the end of 2016, more than 2,175,000 persons in the metropolitan region will be employees subject to social security contributions – a new record figure.

The economy in the Frankfurt-Rhine-Main metropolitan region remains generally on a growth track: 91 percent of companies assess their current business situation as good or satisfactory. Thus, it was possible to add another one percent to an already high level compared to the previous year. The high willingness to spend, low interest rates, low prices of raw materials and a relatively weak euro are factors that will favor economic development in the coming year as well.

Based on the above, the Rhine-Main Chamber of Industry and Commerce Forum expects the gross domestic product of the Frankfurt-Rhine-Main metropolitan region to grow 2.0 percent in 2015 and 2.1 percent in 2016.
