Part two of our series featuring "Recent foreign investments" in Hessen

Mitsubishi Polyester Film GmbH, Japan: The chemical sector location, Hessen, was further enhanced through the opening of the ALPOLIC compound panel plant of the Mitsubishi Polyester Film GmbH at the Kalle-Albert industrial park in Wiesbaden. The first production plant for ALPOLIC compound panels in Europe was built within the year on a total area of approximately 5,300 square meters.

The 15 billion euros investment was inaugurated in 2014. The plant produces metal compound panels made from aluminum, steel, or titanium with a plastic core. More than 20 employees were hired to get the operation off the ground. The capacity is to be gradually increased, creating about 50 new jobs in the long term. The intended production volume of compound panels for 2015 is between 1 and 1.5 billion square meters, the sales target amounts to 20 to 30 billion euros by the end of 2015. Takumi Ubagai, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Plastics in Japan: “I am convinced by the deep relationship between the Mitsubishi Plastics Group and Wiesbaden, Hessen’s capital city.”
