"Economic strength, outstanding infrastructure, an international culture and positive cooperation between people characterize the variety and success of the state," said the Hessian Economics Minister Tarek Al-Wazir. "Using emotional pictures and a fitting soundtrack, we would like to introduce Hessen and create enthusiasm for the location." The film, which Hessen Trade & Invest GmbH has had produced on behalf of the Hessian Economics Ministry, will be shown at international trade fairs, events and on delegation trips. The clip has been translated into ten languages so far – English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Russian, Dutch, Japanese, Turkish, French and Portuguese.
"Our central task is the global marketing of one of the economically strongest regions in Europe. In this regard, the new image film is an important building block for making Hessen even better known internationally," said Dr. Rainer Waldschmidt, CEO of Hessen Trade & Invest GmbH.
Additional protagonists in the film are a young mother studying in Hessen, a foreman at VW training his soccer team, a successful SME businessman, a foreign investor, a financial and economics expert and a well-known researcher. These people represent whole sectors as well as Hessen's location advantages, such as science, logistics and industry, IT & high-tech, finance and creativity. In addition to the German astronaut and European Space Agency (ESA) Director of Human Spaceflight and Operations, Dr. Thomas Reiter, it was also possible to recruit Professor Martin Thanbichler from the Max-Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology and Dr. Gertrud R. Traud, Chief Economist of the Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen (Helaba), for the project.
